Slippers with Soles


 
Materials:
Knitting Worsted
US #9 needles

Gauge:
6 Rows = 1 inch

Adult Sizes:
Small - Medium - Large

Pattern:
Cast on: 30-36-42 stitches

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: K10-12-14, P1, K8-10-12, P1, K10-12-14

Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until 1/2 length of foot, end Row 2 (S-12 patterns, M-15 patterns, L-18 patterns)

Increase Row: K2, inc. 1 in next sat., K2, inc. 1 in next st., K8-11-13, inc. 1 in next 4 sts, K6-9-13, inc. 1 in next st., K2, inc. 1 in next st., K2 (38-44-50 sts)

Rib: K1, P1 until 1 1/2 inches from end of foot. (S-12 rows, M-18 rows, L-24 rows)

Decrease Row 1: Rib 9-11-13, P3 tog., K1, P3 tog., Rib 5-7-9, P3 tog., K1, P3 tog, Rib 10-12-14 (30-36-42 sts)

Next Row: Rib

Decrease Row 2: Rib 5, P3 tog., Rib 13-19-25, P3 tog., Rib 6 (26-31-38 sts)

Next Row: Rib

Decrease Row 3: Rib 3, P3 tog., Rib 13-19-25, P3 tog., Rib 4 (22-27-34 sts)

Next Row: Rib

Cast off stitches.

Sew Cast on stitches of garter stitch together to form back seam, matching purl stitch rib.

Cuff: Pick up odd number of stitches around top of garter stitch section.

Knit in seed  stitch for 1 1/2 inches (9 rows). Cast off stitches.

Fold toe so that seam will go up center top of slipper. Sew across toe and up center seam.

Sole: Cast on 4-6-8 stitches

Row 1: K, increase 1 in last stitch

Row 2: P, increase 1 in last stitch

Row 3-5: K, increase 1 in last stitch

Row 6: P, increase 1 in last stitch (10-12-14 stitches)

Work ridged pattern (K3 rows, P1 row) until sole is same length as garter stitch on slipper (S-5 patterns, M-6 patterns, L-7 patterns)

Increase Row: Increase 1 stitch in first, middle and last stitches

Continue Ridge pattern until 1 1/2 inches from end of foot, end P row

(S-4 patterns, M-5 patterns, L-6 patterns)

Decrease for Toe: K2 tog. first and last stitches on first ridge row 3 times.

Bind off: 7-9-11 stitches

Sew sole to slipper

Tie: Make a single crochet chain of 125 stitches. Draw through slipper at cuff. Tie in front.
